MES for electronics manufacturing · Full traceability from solder paste to shipment

Production Overview

Output and attainment per line, visible within the shift

Output, machine efficiency, plan attainment, lost hours and open work orders in one view, captured automatically from the line, so the shift's attainment is visible mid-shift. Baichuan MES runs in more than 30 manufacturers — built for shops that correct within the shift instead of waiting for next-day reports.

Quality & Efficiency

Which line's yield dropped — located to the station the same day

Line yield and composite score refresh by shift, with defect distribution mapped to the station, so the quality meeting no longer reconciles several reports. Defect entry, disposition and countermeasures are logged in one loop — for plants running many lines in parallel and chasing issues through quality meetings.

Workstation

Work orders and live output on the station screen

Work-order instructions, current operation, cumulative output and defects on the station screen, so changeovers and handovers have a record and new operators can work from the screen. Station data comes from the same source as the shop-floor dashboard, with no second entry.

Full Process

From solder-paste printing to shipment — one record per step

Placement feeders, reflow profiles, test parameters and packaging weight are captured at each step — one record per operation. Traceability looks up material and routing by product SN, and reverse-looks-up flow by reel, for plants with customer audits and traceability requirements.

About the system

What Baichuan MES is

Baichuan MES is the manufacturing execution system built by Shenzhen Baichuan Technology Co., Ltd., covering SMT, DIP, test, assembly and packaging — material loading error-proofing, process traceability, quality closure and shop-floor dashboards in one data set. Serving electronics factories since 2015 and live at 30+ manufacturers, its 15 modules combine freely by process stage — smallest start is wrong-material error-proofing and traceability on a single SMT line, no need for the full flow at once. Built for high-mix, low-volume plants in handsets, tablets, automotive electronics, FPC, WiFi modules, medical and energy storage; integrates with ERP, testers, aging racks and scales; supports on-premise deployment.

  • Material error-proofing Three blocking levels: scan prompt with PDA lock, a monitoring PC, then a line-stop controller locking the placement machine — wrong material stops before placement.
  • Bidirectional traceability Look up material and routing by product SN, or reels back to where they went; reel-level traceability is reconstructed from loading timestamps and routing time windows.
  • Shop-floor transparency Output, yield, attainment, downtime and exceptions on live dashboards, visible mid-shift, with no second entry.
  • Phased delivery Implemented and accepted stage by stage, with on-premise deployment so data stays on the customer's own server.
Three-level interception capability of material loading error-proofing
Interception levelInterception methodUse cases
Level 1PDA scanning cross-checked against BOM and feeder placement table; mismatches trigger an alert and lock the PDAFactories with limited budgets that need to stop wrong materials first
Level 2Level 1 + audible/visual alerts on the monitoring PC, linked reminders across the lineShops running multiple lines that need on-site linked alerts
Level 3Level 2 + line-stop controller locks the placement machine; released automatically once resolvedHigh-value lines with zero tolerance for wrong materials

In short: first plug the wrong-material and traceability gaps — wrong parts, skipped steps, broken traceability — then extend to production planning and equipment networking as needed. The four process stages can go live one by one, each accepted separately.

Process coverage

Four process stages, one system

The four stages share 15 modules: pre-production covers material prep plus stencil and solder-paste records; front-end production covers placement station error-proofing and reflow profiles; back-end covers station-pass records, test parameters and part binding; packing & shipping covers weighing, cartoning and carton-SN binding. Every step leaves a data trail — no manual ledgers to backfill. Go live stage by stage: error-proofing and traceability first, the rest of the modules after.

Shop Floor

Live dashboards for shop-floor activity

Output, attainment, equipment status, defect distribution, temperature and humidity are all collected live from the line — no double entry. Placement rejects, reflow profiles and test parameters land in the database automatically; defects over threshold and downtime are pushed to owners instantly. For shops that need mid-shift visibility instead of end-of-shift catch-up.

Hardware

Racks, environmental monitoring, workstation devices

Hardware and MES share one data set: smart racks light up picks per the feeder placement table, support empty-reel material calls and overdue-reel alerts; environmental monitoring covers the solder-paste room and shop-floor temperature/humidity; scales prevent under- and over-packing; the MES data box connects older equipment without networking. Data lands in one place — swapping devices doesn't disturb the system.

  • FIFOOverdue reels alert automatically — not discovered only on the line
  • Empty-reel material callEmpty bins trigger replenishment alerts immediately — no waiting for a line stop

FAQ

The 8 questions customers ask most when choosing

Questions are kept in customers' own words; answers follow the current version. Pricing and timelines follow the module list and implementation plan.

How much is MES, and how is it priced?

Priced by number of modules and process stages; a single stage (e.g. SMT error-proofing and traceability) can be deployed on its own. The common path starts with one stage from around RMB 100k, with full scope added module by module. The binding figure is the itemised quote in the module list and implementation plan.

How long does implementation take?

A single stage (e.g. SMT error-proofing and traceability) typically goes live in 4–8 weeks. Full scope is implemented stage by stage, roughly 1–2 months each, depending on the number of lines, barcode rules and the scope of equipment integration.

Does it fit a small plant with one line?

Yes. The 15 modules combine freely by process stage. Customers have started from a single SMT line with error-proofing and traceability, then replicated it to other lines. There is no minimum line count.

Does going live require stopping production?

No plant-wide shutdown is needed. Switch line by line: prepare barcode rules, BOM and feeder placement tables first, then bring lines on one at a time. A single line is usually switched during a changeover or planned stop.

How does it integrate with our existing ERP?

Work orders can be imported from ERP (interface or staging table) with production status written back; we have integrated with several ERP systems. Work orders can also be created directly in MES — integration is optional.

Where does the data live? Can it be deployed privately?

On-premise deployment is supported: data stays on the customer's own server, and delivery includes the database schema documentation. For custom development, source code and schema notes are delivered per contract, with remote maintenance optional.

How exactly does material loading error-proofing work?

Reels are labelled with barcodes. At loading, the scan is checked against the BOM and the feeder placement table; a mismatch raises an alarm and blocks at the configured level: level 1 prompts and locks the PDA, level 2 adds audible and visual alerts on the monitoring PC, level 3 adds a line-stop controller that locks the placement machine. Every loading action is logged for traceability.

Will changeovers get slower with error-proofing?

No. Changeover verification is done by scanning instead of checking each reel by hand, and every check is logged automatically. The feeder placement table and kitting list are generated before the changeover; at loading you only confirm by scan.
